Crossword Puzzle - Hint Search Guide - One Across WebsiteI enjoy working on crossword puzzles - But honestly I am not always that good But I still don't resort to the answer key and would like to have some suggestions or hints. I just stumbled upon was "One Across - Search for Crossword Puzzle Answers"

Very Useful when you have a clue but honestly have no clue.

In their search engine you type in the clue given and then type in how many letters it is if the word is blank  or you can type in  ???ed?? for a 7 letter word with ED in the 4th and 5th locations.

Example: Clue is "Round"  and Pattern is "O????"  and the first letter starts with O

The Answer it gives back is

ORBIT similar to known clue (round)
OVATE similar to known clue (round)
OXEYE similar to known clue (round)

KDice - FREE Multiplayer Stragegy Game

Kdice Strategy Game FREE Multiplayer Online GameYes, Even with a busy schedule you need to set some time aside to have some fun. Well, Today I was introduced to a very addictive AJAX Web 2.0 Game that has it all - Strategy, Easy to Learn Rules, Luck, Probability, Interactive, Multiplayer, and FUN!!! I am talking about KDICE - a very simple game to play - Object take over the map and conquer the world. This game is a combination RISK and Dice Game. Below is an excerpt from JayIsGames.com Talking about the rules, and strategy.

the game is so simple you can hop right in and play. Each of the seven players has a color and corresponding territory. Stacked on each territory are a number of dice. When your turn comes up, attack another player by clicking one of your territories followed by an adjacent piece of land. The game rolls the dice and the higher number wins. The goal is to take over and continue to occupy as much of the map as you can. At the end of your turn you get a set number of dice added to your stacks (at random) based on the largest number of contiguous territories that you control. The more areas you control, the bigger your dice army, but remember not to spread yourself too thin.

Yes that sums up the game - my only words of wisdom on this it to just try a few games out to get the hang of it and if you want to add me to your buddy list (DigitalAlan) on the game who knows we may end up playing against each other sometimes.

Writing Desk Wallpaper from Richard PensI figure I would share a few of the wallpaper sites I found when I was trying to spruce up my desktop. I was tired of the plain boring parchment paper look and was just sprucing things up.

The First site has some wonderful screen candy at PenHero.com -  Most of Sheaffer Pens beautifuly displayed with gorgeous backgrounds.

Secod Site Richard Binders Site - From nicely setup writing desk from the 20's to Fountain Pens Nicely displayed with classic postcards and various other old looking backgrounds - Very Classy. He also has a second page of desktop wallpapers - Featuring the Parker 51 Series Fountain Pen - Others from the Parker Family - some from Esterbrook, a few from Eversharp, Wasp and more.

Third Site Mark Bacas Fountain Pen Wallpaper has some wonderfully designed fountain pen wallpapers from the Basic Black Monte Blanc to the Firey Orange Lamy Wall Paper and many others in between.

Fourth Site is Advertising images from Cross Pens. I found many of them would make some nice wallpaper for your computer's desktop.

But if you want to look at some parchment Take a gander at the few offered by Elated Pages.

Plus a nicely created Parchment paper Wallpaper can be found at Pieces of Eight.

I hope I helped you revamp your desktop with a little touch of class of a nice fountain pen or the olde style look of some nice rich parchment paper. Either way Enjoy the Moment.

Categories: Communication, Computing, Consulting, Email, Freeware, GTD, Hack, Notetaking, Web Service.

Stikkit.com - A new online organizer in Beta testing.

First a little Blurb from Stikkit:

Stikkit gives you the digital equivalent of a sticky note: the easiest thing you can grab to jot down an idea or reminder. As you type, Stikkit watches for appointments, to-dos, people, bookmarks and more, magically extracting and organizing the important details. It's like having a personal assistant following along after you.

What does this mean to you? Well after taking the 2 mins that it took to signup and activate your account you can start using it right away - Press the Shift-ALT-N and you get a nice blank note to type something in?

Meeting with Vet for Java for Shots on Jan 22 2007 3pm @VET @JAVA @APPOINTMENT

This created a Appointment (1-22-2007 @ 3pm) And Tagged the note with 3 different TAGS VET, JAVA, Appointment

Whats nice it that it integrated the Notes with Appointments and  Tagging System

BOB SMITH 212-555-1212 bobsmith@yeahright.com

This Created a Peep (Contact) with his contact info in there.

You can also visit the setting page for your Stikkit Account and they will give you a Secret Email address that you can add to your cellphone and then when out on the road you can Text an Apointment, Note, etc to your account.

Plus say you are visiting a webpage and wanted to jot a note about something you saw? Well if you already created a shortcut on your bookmark toolbar  you can press it and it will automatically note the page/time and Whatever notes you want to store on stikkit page.

Each Section of your stikkit has its own RSS feed. So you can read your contacts, appointments or general Notes in your RSS Reader.

Plus if you turned on the SMS feature of Stikkit it can sent you an SMS message when you have an appointment.

My Love of Sudoku

Posted on November 15th, 2006 by Merlin.
Categories: Firefox, Freeware, Game, Web Service.

I love the number logic game Sudoku - you know that game that you see in all the newspapers and see books of these little addicting puzzles at the grocery store checkout. If you don't know what I am talking about check out the WikiPedia Page on Sudoku.

A basic definition is this: known as Number Place or Nanpure, is a logic-based placement puzzle. The object is to fill the grid so that every column, every row and every 3×3 box contains the digits 1 to 9. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid so that there is only one solution.

Now that you know what Sudoku is I am adicted to playing Sudoku on this wonderful free site called Sudoku Slam. It is using an Ajax interface making playing Sudoku easy and extreemly fun.

Here is what Sudoku Slam says about them selfs:Sudoku Slam makes solving Sudokus on your computer more fun than solving them on a piece of paper. For once. There are two basic solver modes. Traditional mode resembles other Sudoku websites (albeit with snazzy features lurking in the background). Sumo mode is the mode of choice: it unleashes the full power of Sudoku Slam and makes solving harder puzzles more fun.

Sorry if I get you hooked on this but I know I am.

Well  I am off to another round of Sudoku Slam in Sumo Mode.

WebService: Jump2Mail - Read Multiple Accounts and More

Posted on October 10th, 2006 by Merlin.
Categories: Anything Else, Communication, Computing, Freeware, Hack, Web Service.

Today I found an interesting site: Jump2Mail.

Jump2Mail as stated on their site is:

Jump2Mail is a free web-based email retrieval application, check all your email-box from one central place - completely free, from any computer, anywhere in the world. This multi account or multi pop webmail allows you to read all your mailboxes without limit.

Jump2Mail also Gives you the following:

The webmail jump2Mail also integrates the following functions :

- Planning/Diary.
- Reminder.
- Task Manager.
- Filtering Anti-Spam.
- Personnal rules.
- Contact management System.
- Bookmark manager (in Ajax).
- RSS Reader (in Ajax).
- RSS Feed of the new malls (in progress).
- Available in 7 different languages.
- 5 different graphic topics.

Again that was taken from their site - They said it better then I could have.

But I signed up and have been looking it over and it is quite robust and easy to work with. It really is nice having all my emails all in one location - I am not always at my main PC where I have my inbox working for me - This really is pretty quite useful to see my contacts, emails, RSS feeds, ect on one screen. Best of all this is FREE - Yes, Free to use.

I will not recommend anything that I don't use - and I will be using this quite a bit while out on the road. I like services that combine multiple uses in one like Meebo.com

This will be going into my links to use on the road - or even at home/office if in a hurry and don't want to run another program.
